SOA World Editorial: Defining Terms
It seems like not a day goes by lately in which some new story of malfeasance in office doesn't come out - whether it's lying under oath, using the services of a call girl, or spying on other officials in the government in order to further a personal agenda. Clearly, our elected officials don't have

Cordys Strengthens U.S. Management and Operations
Former Apple, IBM, and Start Up Executive to Lead Cordys' North American Market Development

Digg This!

SAN DIEGO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 02/26/07 -- Gartner BPM Summit -- Cordys, the leading provider of Business Process Management (BPM) solutions based upon an integrated SOA architecture, today announced the appointment of Howard Green as Senior Vice President of Market Development.

Green brings a strong track record in developing market strategies and building franchise markets at companies such as Apple, IBM, Sprint, and has also led the marketing function at a number of venture backed firms. Most recently, Green was President of CGNET Services International, a global managed network services provider whose enterprise clients include many of the most prominent non-profit organizations in the World, including Save the Children, Conservation International, Carnegie Hall, and the Hewlett, Packard and Rockefeller Foundations.

"Howard's strong credentials are a great addition to the Cordys U.S. team," said Dalibor Vrsalovic, President of Cordys, Inc. "Howard will lead market development strategies and be responsible for implementing go-to-market programs that will be key to Cordys' growth and expansion in the U.S."

"Cordys' innovative technology has the capability to rapidly transform how an enterprise fundamentally manages their business," said Howard Green, Senior Vice President of Market Development at Cordys, Inc. "A central issue facing today's global enterprise is the level of disparity between business people and IT systems -- Cordys technology uniquely bridges this gap to create a near real-time relationship between a business' systems and its people."

Green will be joined in Cordys' Silicon Valley office by Mark Olson, who joins Cordys as Vice President of Client Technology Services. Olson is responsible for developing and training Cordys' technical support teams as well as initiating university programs to provide technical training for business school and IT graduates.

Olson brings over 30 years of experience from Intel Corp., where his roles included marketing, business development and operations. Vrsalovic, Green and Olson formed part of the Intel team that established and developed Intel's New Business Group and developed long range systems architecture for Internet technologies and services.

"As the pressures arising from globalization mount, only the very agile enterprise will be able to thrive," said Mark Olson, Vice President of Client Technology Services at Cordys, Inc. "Cordys allows the enterprise to achieve this agility, because its founding principles center on empowering business people and IT people to work together as a closely-knit team."

A Little SOA Goes A Long Way
Many organizations make the faulty assumption that SOA is a panacea that can, and should be, applied to every situation. The reality is that service orientation is not the right answer for every scenario. The expense of service orientation cannot always be recouped and, in some cases,
More on the Software Assembly Question - Do Design Patterns Help?
One aspect of the debate over software productivity and assembly is whether or not visual tools can help. I think that they do - visual abstractions can be very meaningful - but I do not know of any visual system that actually solves the complete problem (i.e none have solved the custo

Growing an SOA Garden
Adopting SOA is a lot like gardening. It takes time, skill, a lot of hard work, and the process can be messy and even a bit frustrating at times. I know you've probably heard tons of different analogies that attempt to put SOA and governance into everyday terms and I'm sure that growin
Data Services Modeling: Data Modeling in the SOA Age
Once upon a time data modeling played a central role in the process of developing applications. Thus far in the SOA era, there has been a heavy emphasis on process, and data has all-too-often been lost in the SOA shuffle. In this talk, we present a data model for SOA - i.e., a service-
